The Delamar Academy Body Painting & Airbrush course is invaluable for students across many areas of their careers from fashion to theatre.

Learn it all.

Covering all the essential skills of body painting and airbrush, students learn how to use tools and products to create bold, creative designs. This course focuses on technique - with a professional airbrush machine provided to each student.

Twice world body painting champion, Raphaelle Fieldhouse, teaches students to paint what they see, on the challenging canvas of the human body. This famous exercise to paint-on a shirt, stretches the students skills and creates a foundation in many theatre and high-fashion jobs.

The building blocks of industry employment

The 1 week Body painting and Airbrush course provides hands-on training for the painting skills required to paint the face and body. Make-up Artists very often need to employ this skillset, using colour, lines and detail that comes to life on the human body.

By the end of the end of the Body Painting and Airbrush course, students will:

  • Possess the practical skills to use a professional airbrush machine

  • Know how apply creative shapes and designs on the face and body

  • Be able to do face painting jobs and apply for these opportunities with confidence

  • Know how to create a professional body painting and airbrush kit

A full-time course for a fulfilling career

  • Classes run from 10:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday, in the Academy

  • Classes sizes are intimate - no more than 14 students per class to create a strong tutor to student ratio

  • Termly tutorials with a tutor and Academy Principal are held with each student to provide support, advice and learn about each individual student’s goals

  • We a hold guest masterclasses and industry talks throughout the year featuring top industry experts and artists. You can read all about these here

  • Tuition is practical and hands-on, with a tutor demo in the morning, followed by practical sessions for the rest of the day, in which students learn how to handle specialist equipment, tools and materials

  • We place emphasis on individual and group creativity, and all subjects are underpinned by theory, research, and visual references

The course modules:

Students are doing make-up from day one, intensively taught a different discipline each week with. Professional techniques and etiquette are a must.

Beauty Make-up

Learn about the elements of professional beauty make-up from the perfect complexion work to dramatic enhancement of features.

Fashion make-up

A more technical week with red lips, graphic liner, textures, shapes, crystals and runway inspired make-up looks.

Advanced Fashion Week 2

Covering more genres of fashion make-up, finishing with a fashion shoot with professional models and photographer. In addition to fashion techniques, you will be advised on working in the industry, building a portfolio, and how to follow a brief.

Beginner Hair & Setting

Essential hair styling requires precise sectioning, styling with rollers, tongs, wands, texture and up-dos. Setting is an important skill for wig work.

Advanced Fashion Week 1

This first week of Advanced Fashion builds on the skills already taught, but steps up the technical and creative standards. Students learn how to create challenging shapes, period looks and textures on the face.

Industry talk & aftercare

Towards the end of the course, students receive individual meetings with the course leader to discuss their talents, course experience and career goals, so we can assist them on their journey.
