The Advanced Fashion course

6 weeks of intensive training in the most professional fashion & beauty makeup techniques

Where make-up careers begin.

The Delamar Academy Advanced Fashion course is industry recognised as a provider of great fashion, beauty and commercial Makeup Artists. Graduates have worked on fashion week shows, red carpets and advertising campaigns.

Learn it all.

This make-up course is all about learning the skills necessary to work professionally as a makeup artist in the beauty, commercial, light entertainment music and fashion industries.

The fashion industry employs artists not only for their skillset, but for their taste and perspective. For this reason, we include lots of fashion and historical reference to develop the students’ knowledge.

Glam commercial styles are taught alongside more stripped-back, editorial techniques. Successful and employable Makeup Artists need a broad skillset to start their career.

Graduates from this course have gone on to work successfully in the industry, some with coveted agency representation in London, New York and Paris.

Students have the option of taking a 4 week or 6 week course with us, which provides one or two photoshoots, respectively. Our photoshoots are produced to the highest standard with London’s leading model agencies and fashion photographers. These images are for the student’s portfolios to help them get work.

Next course date:

22 January - 16 February 2025

20 May - 14 June 2025

Course fee: £4,250 (4 weeks)

The foundations of industry employment

The Advanced Fashion course provides hands-on training for all the fashion & beauty makeup skills required to put you backstage at a fashion show, commercial shoot or red carpet glam-room.

Before applying for this course, we ask that you have completed the following Delamar courses or can demonstrate equivalent experience with basic fashion & beauty makeup.

Delamar Academy Advanced Fashion develops your skills and your eye for fashion makeup. We teach a combination of period fashion looks, modern make-up trends and pay special homage to the greats such as Kevyn Aucoin and Pat McGrath. Such legendary artists have their own day where students recreate iconic looks using the same techniques.

During these 6 weeks, we host a variety of top fashion artists to teach many technical areas including:

Graphic liner looks, facial adornment and embellishment, 1970s Disco Diva, 1920s Clara Bow, creative colour and texture work, editorial challenges , speed tests, full commercial looks, different skin finishes, catwalk inspired masks, nature inspired creative looks and editorial hair looks - essential for artists starting out as you will be asked to do hair on a job.

By the end of the end of the Advanced Fashion course, students will:

  • Possess the practical skills to launch a career in the makeup artist industry

  • Know how to research a subject and use relevant reference material to fulfil a makeup brief

  • Know how to build and use everything in a professional makeup kit
