The Academy

Delamar Academy of Makeup & Hair is recognised as the most prestigious school of its kind. We have a long history dating back to Tom Smith teaching here - Marilyn Monroe’s Makeup Artist on the Prince & The Showgirl - to modern day multi-award winning Artists. We are the only makeup training school in the world to have graduates who have won Oscars, BAFTAs, Emmys, Vogue Makeup Artist of The Year, Italian Academy Award and Guild Awards.

Our reputation for excellence is upheld through constantly hiring the finest Artists to teach new (and classic) techniques with the best industry standard products and equipment. All of this would have little impact without the Delamar Academy aftercare - providing opportunities to our graduates who are eligible to work in the UK, and providing connections for international students.

This brings us onto our “why” - which has always been to help people enter this fulfilling and creative career path. It is the reason our founder, Penny Delamar set up the school in 1986 and we have continued to provide training with exactly the same intrinsic motivation. Our tutors represent some of the best Artists in the industry and are passionate about passing on their skills and knowledge to the next generation.

Each year we provide fantastic career opportunities to the students who are eligible to work in the UK, both upon graduation and many years after completing a course here. Our door is always open for graduates, no matter how long ago they graduated - we want to see them succeed and do all we can to make it happen.
