Advanced Body Art
The art of body painting covers a vast area of painted effects.
Some make-up artists choose to specialise in this subject, working through an agent, usually in fashion and advertising. But there are also many gifted make-up artists who include body painting as an additional skill. These tend to work in film and TV.
Our Advanced Body Art course gives you the skills to go beyond basic bodypainting techniques to master advanced skills and start you on your chosen career path.
Before applying for this course, we ask that you have completed the Delamar Bodypainting and Airbrushing course or its equivalent.
What you will learn
Building on your existing bodypainting skills and techniques, this course will see you develop your free-hand painting, improve your shading and blending, and further develop the cutting and using of stencils.
You will complete the module by designing and creating an individual bodypainting project.
Where you will learn it
The light and airy classrooms of Delamar Academy are located within the world-famous Ealing Studios in West London. (You can learn more about Ealing Studios itself on our Get in touch page or on the Ealing Studios site itself.)
In our spacious classrooms, you will have your own personal workstation – including professional lighting and equipment. Ealing Studios is home to a number of other companies that form a real media community, with visual effects, production, editing, outside broadcast, and record companies all represented. There is also the Met Film School, which offers a first step in studio work experience for our own students when they work on graduate films.
Your next steps
In addition to the course prerequisite (see above), there are only two requirements for entry to this course:
- You must be at least 18 years old;
- If English is not your first language, you must have a good standard of spoken English (equivalent to IELTS 6).
Check out the dates of the next course in the sidebar.

“Alongside the learning, Delamar is so encouraging and helpful when it comes to finding you work through their own agency, during your time at Delamar and afterwards. The staff at the Academy go above and beyond the job and I cannot praise them enough.”
