The most exciting reason why the January course is so special, is the magical time of year our students finish – in June 2019.
Summer is the busiest time in the industry, with films, TV, fashion, theatre and the commercial world kicking off in spectacular style. We have had so many success stories from students who start in January and graduate into an industry of big opportunities. We are constantly running out of graduates to give work to! Then we look to our fresh new graduates who have come straight off the January course, to see how they get on.
Recent success stories include Grace Hatcher who started in January 2017 and is now working regularly with CLM artists – CLM is a top agency representing Andrew Gallimore and Delamar Graduate Jo Frost, plus many other top fashion make-up artists. Aimee Joyce is another graduate, who finished in June, then went onto a BBC job for two months continuously, working alongside some make-up artist legends. Arina Laura, another 2018 graduate who started in January has been on Star Wars and now has a permanent position on the West End Musical, School of Rock. This is a small selection of recent graduates from January courses over the past 18 months.
Secondly, lets get the nitty gritty out the way… this is sadly one of the last opportunities that students will have to make use of the Professional Career Development Loan. Not our choice, and something that we are quite sad about, as many of our top students were only able to train here with the use of this government-backed loan for educational courses. You can read all about funding your course at Delamar Academy here.
The PCDL is a government-backed loan available through the Co-op bank. This is a private loan that many of our graduates have used to help fund their training at Delamar. We have been very supportive of this loan, as it allows people from all financial backgrounds to train here. Sadly this loan will no longer be available, with the last date anyone can apply for a PCDL loan is on 25thJanuary 2019. This loan can be used to fund the Complete Make-up Artist and the Advanced Complete Make-up artist courses and other shorter courses for January 2019 and March 2019.
We have an exciting intake for 2019, but look forward to taking enrolments from any new students. It is one of the best times to start in the industry!
