We love catching up with our graduates! Here we talk to Hannah Clark who completed the 22 week Advanced Complete Make-up Artist course in February 2015.
What did you do before you came to Delamar?
Before attending Delamar, I did a Geography degree (mad, I know!) at Portsmouth University. I graduated from there in 2013 and after hopping from one job to the next not really knowing what I wanted to do, I finally settled on a new path … makeup!
Why did you choose to study at Delamar?
I chose to study at Delamar because the first time I looked round it felt right. Everyone was so welcoming and it really felt like a community. All of the tutors are in the industry and fantastic at what they do, so who wouldn’t want to be taught by them!?!
Do you have any advice for students starting with us?
Throw yourself into it! I did the 22 week course and it flew by. Get involved and learn as much as you can. Ask as many questions because your time at Delamar will set you up for the rest of your career. I took as many notes as I could because there is so much information thrown at you and they’ve certainly helped refresh my memory on jobs since!
What have you been up to since graduating?
Since finishing my course last February, I have worked on a variety of jobs. I started out doing a lot of student films and had a short stint in theatre styling hair. I was lucky enough to get some work experience in the summer on Downton Abbey and then E4’s Drifters. Since August I’ve been working on an independent feature film, where I was lucky enough to design the makeup and run a small team and finally just before Christmas I had the amazing opportunity of working as a main team trainee at Pinewood Studios.
What are your plans for the future?
To carry on! I’ve definitely found what I love doing and I hope the future brings many more opportunities. You have to take the quiet times to catch up on life but I love being busy working and look forward to what the year has in store!
