With August fast approaching, we are looking forward to welcoming our next intake of students to Delamar. The Advanced and Complete Make-up Artist courses are starting on 24th August. Due to such popular demand, we have decided to add some more spaces to this course after filling up so early. This means putting on an extra class! Woohoo!
BAFTA winning Delamar tutor, Catherine Scoble had the following to say, just this week:
“There has never been a better time to enter the industry in all sectors, as there is so much work available in make-up and hair, more than ever before.”
With the industry so exceptionally busy at the moment, we are excited for our new graduates who have been making us proud with lots of wonderful work.
This August course is one of the last opportunities to train at Delamar with funding from the Professional Career Development Loan. If you would like to take advantage of this, you will have to apply for a loan before 25th January 2019. After this date, the funding will no longer be available to anyone. You can read about this in full detail here.
So what can you achieve on the Advanced Complete and the Complete Make-up Artist Courses?
Graduates from both these courses go into the industry with a huge skillset and knowledge. Both these courses include the core modules of beauty, fashion, hair, casualty and character, prosthetics and facial hair. The longer course has 4 weeks of Advanced Fashion training and Advanced TV and Film make-up, plus a screen day with a camera man and lighting set up, in the Academy. This allows you to see your make-up on a screen and understand how the lighting works. The 22 week course also includes a photo shoot, which You can read about the detailed differences between these two courses here.
Amy Kyprianou did the 16 week Complete Make-up Artist Course and has the following to say to anyone considering it:
“Do it! It’s the best decision I ever made. Remember to take thorough notes, go at the course with an open mind and try your best at everything. I had no idea how much I would love all aspects of the course.”
From working on Luther and other BBC productions, Amy did really well soon after graduating, with very few prior contacts or experience in the industry. You can read all about Amy’s journey here.
Another success story is Anja Bont from Switzerland, who did the 22 week Advanced Complete Make-up Artist course. Since graduating Anja has worked on red carpet make-up for the Cannes Film Festival (read all about her experience here), campaign shoots, Vogue, Armani, Dua Lipa music videos, the Brit Awards and many more incredible commercial/fashion jobs. It has been just over a year since Anja graduated, we could not be more impressed with her progress. For a student who came to us with English as her third language, and very few contacts, Anja is an example of what you can achieve on this course.

There is still time to come in for a tour, which we make available (and free) every day. We can’t wait to hear from you!
